All rights reserved. The Bible Talks about SALVATION: CAN YOU LOSE IT? When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ you are saved from suffering the penalty of sin and have eternal life with God guaranteed. The Bible gives us the following reasons why you can believe your salvation is certain. 1). BECAUSE GOD KNEW, EVEN BEFORE YOU WERE BORN, THAT YOU WOULD BELIEVE. BECAUSE HE KNEW THIS, HE MADE YOUR ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN CERTAIN BY CHOOSING AND ELECTING YOU (PREDESTINATING YOU) EVEN BEFORE HE CREATED THE EARTH! (Re-read BT#72, "Predestination) ROMANS 8:29 "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." EPHESIANS 1:4,5. "....just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,...." 1PETER 1:2 "....elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: 2). THE HOLY SPIRIT MAKES SURE WE BELONG TO GOD AND GUARANTEES THAT WE STAY THAT WAY. 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22 "..who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a deposit." EPHESIANS 1:13,14. "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory." EPHESIANS 4:30 "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 3). SALVATION IS A GIFT AND GOD DOES NOT RECALL GIFTS. ROMANS 11:29 "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable (Cannot be called back)." EPHESIANS 2:8 " For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,...." 1JOHN 5:11 "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son." 4). NO SIN CAN MAKE US GUILTY. NO SIN CAN CONDEMN US. WE ARE CLEANSED FROM ALL SIN. JOHN 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ROMANS 8:1 " There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." COLOSSIANS 2:13 "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,..." 1 JOHN 1:7 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 5). WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE RIGHT NOW. JOHN 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." JOHN 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." JOHN 6:47 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." 1 JOHN 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." 6). WE ARE BORN AGAIN. WE ARE NEW CREATURES BEFORE GOD. CAN ANYONE BE UNBORN? JOHN 1:13 "....who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,nor of the will of man, but of God." 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new". 1PETER 1:23 "having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,..." 7). WE ARE KEPT BY BOTH GOD THE FATHER AND GOD THE SON. WE CANNOT FALL. (With God the Father and God the Son holding on to us and the Holy Spirit putting the seal of God's possession on us, our salvation is secure.) JOHN 6:39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day." JOHN 10:28,29. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand." HEBREWS 13:5 "Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." JUDE 1:24 "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,...." 8). GOD GIVES BELIEVERS TO JESUS AND THEREFORE BELIEVERS CANNOT BE LOST. JOHN 6:39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day." 9).GOD KNOWS HIS BELIEVERS. JOHN 10:14 "I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own." 2 TIMOTHY 2:19 "Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His,...." BECAUSE SALVATION IS GUARANTEED TO YOU, CAN YOU NOW GO OUT AND COMMIT ANY SIN YOU WISH? ROMANS 6:1 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?" ROMANS 6:2 "Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" IF YOU ARE A BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER, SALVATION IS GUARANTEED TO YOU. (Reread BT # 3, "Born Again.")
