The words we speak show our attitudes, faith, beliefs, and our self-images. Words are our confession of who and what we are. (See BT# 3, "Fruit: Its Importance). OUR WORDS REVEAL OUR INNERMOST FEELINGS AND WILL BE USED FOR OR AGAINST US. MATTHEW 12:35 -37 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." MATTHEW 15:11 "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." ROMANS 10:10 " For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." WORDS HAVE GREAT POWER, EVEN TO GIVE LIFE OR TAKE AWAY LIFE. PROVERBS 12:18 " There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health." PROVERBS 12:25 "Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad." PROVERBS 15:1 "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger". PROVERBS 15:23 "A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!" PROVERBS 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." PROVERBS 25:11 "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." KEEP YOUR TONGUE FROM SPEAKING EVIL. PSALM 34:13 "Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking guile." 1 PETER 3:10 "For "He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile;..." WE ARE TOLD TO USE OUR WORDS TO CONFESS (ACKNOWLEDGE; AGREE) THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD AND SAVIOR. ROMANS 14:11 "For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." PHILIPPIANS 2:11 "...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." WE OUGHT NOT TO BE DOUBLE TONGUED. JAMES 3:10 "Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so."
