LUKE 1:28 "And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" LUKE 1:30 "Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God." MARY WAS A VIRGIN AS FORETOLD BY ISAIAH. (See BT#24, "The Virgin Birth.") ISAIAH 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." LUKE 1:26,27. "....the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary." MATTHEW 1:18 "....After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit." MARY ACCEPTED THE PRIVELEGE WITH GLADNESS AND PRAISE. LUKE 1:38 "Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." LUKE 1:46,47,48. "And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed." MARY RECOGNIZED THAT SHE, TOO, NEEDED A SAVIOR. LUKE 1:47 "....and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior." (Mary was a sinful being, the same as every other living person. Therefore she, too, needed a Savior and recognized that fact. The fact that she was sinful did not affect the birth of Jesus. Jesus was born sinless of a sinful woman because the sin-tainted blood of Mary did not touch Jesus while He was in Mary's womb. It is a medical fact that oxygen, water and all nutrients required for the baby's maintenance and growth come through the placenta and not directly from the mother's sin-tainted blood). AFTER THE BIRTH OF JESUS, MARY HAD CHILDREN BY JOSEPH, HALF-BROTHERS AND HALF-SISTERS TO JESUS. MATTHEW 13:55 "Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?" MATTHEW 13:56 "And His sisters, are they not all with us?...." JOHN 2:12 "After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples;" JOHN 7:5 "For even His brothers did not believe in Him." AFTER THE BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD OF JESUS, MARY IS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE ONLY THREE MORE TIMES. 1). JOHN 2:4. (When Jesus turned water into wine. His first miracle). 2). JOHN 19:25 "Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene." 3). ACTS 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers." (There is no mention of Mary being at the grave, at His resurrection or His ascension). TODAY MARY IS LOOKED UPON BY SOME AS A MEDIATOR, QUEEN, COUNSELOR AND ADVISOR TO JESUS. 1).GOD'S WORD MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THAT AT THE PRESENT TIME JESUS IS OUR MEDIATOR. MARY IS NOT A MEDIATOR, NEITHER IS ANYONE ELSE. ROMANS 8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He Jesus) makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 1 TIMOTHY 2:5 "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,..." HEBREWS 7:25 "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them." 2).NO ONE IS A QUEEN IN HEAVEN. THE BIBLE MAKES NO MENTION DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY THAT SOMEONE IN HEAVEN IS A QUEEN. 3).NOR IS ANYONE A COUNSELLOR TO GOD OR JESUS. THE ALL-KNOWING GOD DOESN'T NEED A COUNSELLOR. ROMANS 11:34 "For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?" MARY IS ALSO WORSHIPED AND PRAYED TO. THE BIBLE GIVES NO REASON FOR THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR AND WARNS AGAINST IT. DEUTERONOMY 6:13 "You shall fear the LORD your God and serve Him, ...." ISAIAH 42:8 "I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images." MATTHEW 4:10 "Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' " MARY IS THE MOTHER OF JESUS, GOD IN THE FLESH. THIS DOES NOT MAKE HER THE MOTHER OF GOD THE FATHER WHO ALWAYS WAS AND HAS NO BEGINNING AND NO END.
